CA-UTI rates going down

In this large retrospective analysis of the NHSN (formerly NISS), rates of symptomatic UTI from 1990 to 2007 were reduced in all ICU types, by between 19% and 67%, with no significant change in catheter utilization rates. This is encouraging that as catheter rates decrease, then CA-UTI rates will decline even further (abstract)
