Evidence of benefit for a Hospitalist-run intermediate care unit

In this retrospective analysis of a Hospitalist-run intermediate care unit, researchers found the in-hospital mortality rate was significantly lower than expected (21% vs 23%), indicating the benefit of these Hospitalist-run units (abstract).
