Extending the t-PA window for stroke

A new advisory statement published by the American Stroke Association / American Heart Association, they recommend extending the t-PA window to 4.5 hours for most patients with acute ischemic stroke (statement). Those excluded from this extended window include older age (>80), baseline high NIH stoke scale score (>25), history of both stroke and diabetes, and anyone on oral anticoagulants.
