H1N1 vaccines released

The CDC has released dosing schedules for the 4 vaccines approved by the FDA against the 2009 H1N1 virus (MMWR report). These should be administered based on the previously published ACIP recommendations of priority group targets (ACIP), of which the 5 initial target groups should include: Pregnant women, health care workers, infant (<6 months) care providers, children 6mo-24 years, and adults 25-64 years with chronic medical conditions).

Dr. Scheurer is a clinical hospitalist and the Medical Director of Quality and Safety at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, and is Assistant Professor of Medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, completed her residency at Duke University, and completed her Masters in Clinical Research at the Medical University of South Carolina.
