More on thrombolytics and filters in unstable PE

In this large retrospective cohort of patients with unstable PE (e.g. in shock or ventilated), about 1/3 received thrombolytics; the all-cause case fatality rate was 47% in those that did not receive thrombolytics,  15% in those that received thrombolytics,  and 8% in those that received thrombolytics + IVC filter. Consideration should be given to both thrombolytics and IVC filters in patients with unstable PE (abstract)
