Neurotoxicity of Amiodarone

This retrospective population-based cohort of patients on amiodarone assessed the incidence and presentation of amiodarone-associated neurotoxicity. They found 3% of patients on amiodarone experienced neurotoxicity, consisting of tremor, ataxia, peripheral neuropathy, and cognitive impairment. These correlated directly with duration of treatment, and was usually reversible with cessation of treatment (abstract).
