New guidelines on massive/sub-massive PE

Key messages include: Fibrinolytics should be used in those with hemodynamically significant PE and acceptable risk of bleeding; for those with a contraindication, embolectomy should be considered in centers with experience; IVC filters should be considered in those unable to be anticoagulated (with appropriate retrieval later, if applicable); those with ileofemoral DVT should wear compression stockings for 2 years. The full guidelines can be found at (site)
