New risk predictor for vascular surgery

In this large multi-institutional consortium of patients who had undergone vascular surgery, multivariate analysis found 8 predictors of adverse outcomes (MI, CHF, or arrhythmia), and 1 negative predictor (prior revascularization). Based on these predictors, they created a risk index for each of 4 vascular procedures (CEA, lower extremity bypass, or endovascular/open AAA). These calculators can be found at (site), and appeared to be more sensitive than the RCRI.
