No association with PFO and CVA

This meta-analysis offers the best evidence to date of the absence of an association with PFO and risk of cryptogenic CVA. Of 4 studies with a non-PFO comparison group, they found no association between PFO and CVA or TIA. There is no evidence for evaluating or correcting PFO in patients with cryptogenic CVA (abstract).
