No intra-operative hypotension associated with peri-op loop diuretics

In this multi-center randomized trial of patients on chronic loop diuretics undergoing surgery, they were randomized to a pre-op dose of loop diuretic or placebo; rates of intra-operative hypotension, use of vasopressors or fluids, renal function, electrolytes, or cardiovascular events were not different between the 2 groups. Patients on chronic loop diuretics can safety take their medication the day of surgery (abstract)
