Non-contrast CT sufficient to rule out appendicitis

This systematic review assessed the diagnostic accuracy of non-contrast CT to diagnose appendicitis (7 studies, 1060 patients). A pooled estimate found the sensitivity and specificity to be 93% and 96% respectively. Non-contrast CT is sufficient to rule in and out appendicitis (abstract).
