Patient education to reduce inpatient falls

In this large trial of hospitalized patients, they were randomized to multi-media education on fall risk, or usual care. The educational intervention was only effective in reducing falls in those that were cognitively intact. Patient education can be part of an effective fall reduction program in cognitively intact patients (abstract)
