Predicting unplanned CHF admissions

There are many models to predict unplanned readmissions for CHF patients. This large administrative database sought to determine if any one model is better than another. In the dataset, overall 19% of CHF patients had died or had an unplanned readmission. The LaCE index appeared to perform better than others (Length of index hospital stay, Age, Charleson score, ED visits in past 6 months). The LaCE index appears to be the best model to date at predicting risk of unplanned readmissions for CHF patients (abstract)
