In this randomized trial of COPD patients, a patient questionnaire was given to patients about their preferences for end of life care. The clinician-patient groups that received the patient responses feedback form reported higher rates of end of life discussions that were of higher quality than those groups that did not receive the feedback form. A simple patient questionnaire about end of life care, when shared with clinicians, can improve quantity and quality of end of life discussion in COPD patients (abstract)
