Telemonitoring does not improve CHF outcomes

Telemonitoring programs have become a common disease management strategy, purported to improve outcomes of CHF patients. This large trial randomized CHF patients to telemonitoring or usual care and found no differences in mortality or hospitalizations / readmissions. Unfortunately this fails to prove the value of telemonitoring programs in CHF patients (abstract).
