In this large database analysis, the use of beta blockers in patients with COPD was associated with significantly lower risk of death (22%) as well as fewer hospitalizations and no deleterious impact on lung function. This study adds to the mounting literature that beta blockers are not only safe, but may be beneficial in patients with COPD (abstract)
