In this post hoc analysis of a large trial of patients with HTN and CAD, chronic NSAID users were significantly more likely than the non-chronic users to experience an adverse event (death, MI, stroke) (hazard ratio 1.5, CI 1.2-1.8). Due to this and other recent publications, NSAIDs should be avoided in patients with CAD and HTN (abstract)
