Caution dabigatran with atrial fibrillation ablations

In this large prospective analysis of patients on warfarin or dabigatran undergoing ablation for atrial fibrillation, major bleeding occurred in 6% of those on dabigatran and 1% of those on warfarin. Although uninterrupted warfarin is reasonably safe for ablations, dabigatran has significantly higher bleeding risks (abstract)
