New treatment thresholds for triglycerides

The AHA has released a scientific statement recommending treatment of triglycerides only if they exceed 500. This is significantly higher than previous recommendations, and is based on lack of causal evidence that lowering triglycerides by medical therapy improves outcomes (statement link)
