In this trial of patients with acute sinusitis symptoms (not by imaging), they were randomized to amoxicillin or placebo for 10 days, in addition to symptomatic treatment, and there were no significant differences in symptom scores at days 3 and 10. We should continue to try to resist treating uncomplicated sinusitis with antibiotics (abstract)
